Motion Camera now supports RAW (Beta)

Motion Camera is now updated to support RAW format in Beta release (with in-app-purchase). Long exposure shots can now be captured in RAW DNG format as long as the camera lens supports RAW format.

You will be able to switch to RAW by simply tapping the “JPG” icon and handheld mode will be disabled when shooting in RAW. Having RAW support will significantly improved photo quality and there will be plenty of rooms for post processing.

Manual exposure control is also enabled in premium to allow finer control on ISO and shutter speed. Since Motion Camera captures multiple frames over the exposure time, ISO and shutter speed here represents camera setting for individual frames. The final exposure time will still be the “Exposure Time”. Therefore, it is not necessary during daytime where there is a lot of light. Manual control should only come to use during night time (e.g. shooting traffic light trails) for setting slower shutter speed to capture more light with less noise.

This feature is currently in Beta testing. To try this feature, you will need to join beta program after installing the app. In PlayStore, search for the app and scroll down to “Join the beta” and click “Join”, after a few minutes, relaunch PlayStore and you will be able to update the app.
