Composite Long Exposure On Your Android with “Motion Stacks”

Long exposure photography on smartphones is always time consuming and requires numbers of trials to get the right exposure before actual shots. In some smartphone camera’s pro-mode, when shutter speed exceeds certain limit, the viewfinder no longer shows the correct exposure in real time, and we often need a few trials to get the right exposure.

Composite long exposure is a computational method of creating long exposure by stacking a series of short exposures into a long exposure image. Motion Stacks is an Android app that is designed exactly on this purpose. Your previous time-lapse image frames can even be reused to create long exposure images through this app.

Images can to be captured separately through “Intervalometer“, and by pairing with this app, we can achieve long exposure photography that is equivalent to minutes or even hours of true long exposure.
